Steven Weiss
Steve Weiss
Steven Weiss, president of The Weiss Group, is a seasoned marketing professional and strategist with more than 20 years of experience at some of Northern California’s most notable public, private and non-profit organizations. Weiss excels in helping companies evolve, expand and succeed by developing strategic focus, building organizational capacity and achieving business objectives.

Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Weiss was vice president of marketing & public affairs for The Sacramento Bee, the McClatchy Corporation’s flagship newspaper. At The Bee, he led the organization’s branding, marketing and public affairs initiatives and created a successful portfolio strategy that allowed the paper to launch new products and Web sites while broadening the company’s reach. Weiss is a resourceful marketing strategist skilled in leveraging brands and creating opportunities for growth.

Weiss has a proven track record in management, fundraising, marketing and public affairs. His community leadership and extensive professional network help clients create powerful alliances and strong working relationships. Serving as director of cultural programs at UC Davis, he chaired the campus’ Building Committee for the $60 million Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. Weiss is the former board chair for KVIE, one of the top rated PBS stations in the country, and currently serves on the Capital Public Radio Board of Directors, Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation Board and California State University, Sacramento’s College of Business Administration Advisory Board. He is also a Senior Fellow and board member with the American Leadership Forum’s Mountain Valley Chapter.

Daniel Rascher

Dan Rascher
Daniel Rascher teaches and publishes research on sports business topics, and consults to the sports industry. He specializes in economics and finance and more specifically in industrial organization, antitrust, M&As, valuation, economic impact, market readiness, feasibility research, damage analysis, strategy, and labor issues in the sports industry. His clients have included companies involved in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA, NCAA, NHRA, MLS, AHL, Formula One racing, Champ Car Racing, Premier League Football (soccer), professional cycling, media companies, sports commissions, B2B enterprises, and IHRSA.

Dr. Rascher received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He is Director of Academic Programs and Associate Professor for the Sport Management Program at the University of San Francisco (USF), where he also teaches courses in sports economics and finance and sports business research methods.

Prior to joining USF, Dr. Rascher was an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has authored articles for academic and professional journals and book chapters in the sport management and economics fields, and has been interviewed extensively for his opinion on various aspects of the business of sports. Dr. Rascher serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, International Journal of Sport Finance, and the Journal of the Quantitative Analysis of Sports.

Erika Pringsheim-Moore
Erika Pringsheim-Moore delivers 16 years of experience in corporate sponsorship, business development, marketing communications, event production, media and public relations to nonprofits and cause marketers.

She has led projects provided consulting services for nonprofits including the California State Parks Foundation, Patch Adams M.D. and the Gesundheit! Institute, EnviroSports, diaryproject.com, and Save High School Sports Foundation.

She specializes in building mutually beneficial partnerships between corporations, media and cause organizations; development of regional marketing strategies; signature event creation and production; promotional partnership formation; sponsorship acquisition and management.
